Maxim of Pragmatism

In the secondary literature the notion of “pragmatic maxim” has been established as a name for this doctrine which was the term also used by the editors of Collected Papers. Peirce’s own name for the “doctrine” or “maxim”, however, was the “maxim of pragmatism”, or, in his later writings the “maxim of pragmaticism”. I think that Peirce’s own designations are more accurate if the precise meaning of this notion is considered.
