abstract = "{The article presents an interpretation of the American pragmatist Charles Sanders Peirce's philosophy regarding the perception of generals, which are also referred to as Thirds. An overview of what is referred to as the realism about perception, which is a theory on the independence of objects apart from sense-perception, is provided. An overview of Peirce's pragmatic view of reality, including the interrelation of perceptual judgement, the percept and the percipuum, is also provided. The article discusses Peirce's concept of the temporality of perception, which includes his view that perception is a temporally continuous event.}",
